Delete in the app

If you can sign in to My Word:

1. Open Settings.
2. Open Account.
3. Tap Delete Account.
4. Confirm the dialog titled DELETE ACCOUNT?

The confirmation explains that deletion is permanent and that your display name will remain unavailable and cannot be reused. Cancel does nothing. Confirm runs deletion for the account you are signed in as, then signs you out.

This flow is implemented in the app (Settings → Account). It uses the current session only; it does not accept another person’s account id.

If you cannot sign in

Email info@myword-app.com from the email address on the account. Use the subject line: Delete my My Word account.

Response times and identity checks for email requests: needs confirmation.

What deletion removes in My Word

When deletion succeeds, My Word removes the profile and related data that cascades with the account in the product database, including Challenges you own, progress tied to that account, feedback rows, Pledge and settlement rows tied to the account, and Support contribution rows in My Word. You are signed out.

What can remain

• Display name. Your display name stays reserved so someone else cannot take it. How long names stay reserved: needs confirmation.
• Anonymised financial archive. Before Pledge rows are removed, amounts, statuses, and Stripe identifiers can be copied into an anonymised financial archive without the Challenge title. How long that archive is kept: undecided — pending legal and accounting review; this page does not state a period.
• Usage events. Some analytics events can remain without your account id.
• Stripe. Payment records held by Stripe are not deleted by the in-app deletion button.
• Backups and logs. Provider backups and server logs are not erased at the moment you press the button. Retention windows: needs confirmation.
• Feedback screenshots. Feedback rows cascade away; files in storage may need a separate cleanup step. needs confirmation that production cleanup covers leftover files.

Deletion cannot be undone for the data the deletion removes. Do not read this page as a promise that every copy everywhere is erased instantly.
