Terms of Use
1. Who these Terms are with
These Terms are between you and MY WORD APP LTD, a company registered in the United Kingdom, company number 17476778. My Word is the app. The website is myword-app.com.
Contact for these Terms: info@myword-app.com.
Registered office: required before publication — do not invent this address.
Email is the public contact. A registered office is not printed here, and it is not used as a substitute postal address for general enquiries.
2. What My Word is
My Word lets you turn a goal into a Challenge, track Wins and Slip-ups, and, if you choose, involve other people. You can keep a private Pledge and, separately, make a Support My Word contribution.
The app is a record of what you report. It does not check that a Win happened in the world. It is not medical, nutritional, psychological, or financial advice.
3. Eligibility
You must be 18 or over to use My Word. The app does not ask your age and does not block sign-up by age.
How the 18+ rule will be enforced: needs confirmation.
If you use My Word for someone else, you are responsible for that use.
4. Accounts
You need an account for the signed-in product. You provide a display name, email address, and password. The password must be at least 6 characters. Display names are unique. After sign-up, the app does not let you change the display name. A deleted display name stays reserved.
You are responsible for the activity under your password. Tell MY WORD APP LTD at info@myword-app.com if you believe someone else is using your account.
The Security screen mentions biometric unlock. That feature is not implemented. These Terms do not require you to enrol biometrics.
Apple and Google sign-in are not offered.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to use My Word to:
- break the law;
- harass, threaten, or abuse another person;
- send invitations to someone who has asked you to stop, once a stop control exists;
- post a Challenge that asks someone to do something dangerous or unlawful;
- attempt to read another person’s Pledge or payment record;
- interfere with the service, or probe it except through a test the operator has agreed in writing.
You can report content and block a person in the app. MY WORD APP LTD reads reports at info@myword-app.com. The target is an initial response within 3 business days. That is a first reply, not a promise that the report will be resolved in that time. There is no automated filter. A block stops new invitations and follower access. It does not close a Joint Challenge that has already started.
6. Challenges and progress
You decide the words of a Challenge and you enter Wins and Slip-ups yourself. Other people you invite may see progress for that Challenge. They do not see your Pledge.
Joint Challenge participants can see one another’s progress on that Joint Challenge. Following applies to the Challenge you were invited to, not to every Challenge on the account. The owner can remove a follower from that Challenge.
You can cancel, edit, or close a Challenge within the limits the app already enforces. Some edits are blocked once a Challenge is underway. The app, not these Terms, is the list of those limits.
7. Pledges
Pledges are optional and start at £0. My Word does not take a payment when you create a Challenge. If a Challenge is unsuccessful, My Word may invite you to honour the amount you chose. You may pay that amount, pay a lower amount, or settle at £0. Nothing is charged automatically.
A Pledge is not a debt, a bill, or an amount owed. It is not a wager and it does not create a prize or a payout. It does not unlock a feature. Whether Apple or Google accept that description is unresolved.
Pledge information is private to you.
8. Support My Word
Support contributions are optional, separate from Pledges, and private. In the app they are between £1 and £500. They do not change a Challenge and do not unlock a feature.
The word “donation” appears in the interface. Whether the payment is a gift, a taxable supply, or something else is: needs confirmation.
9. Payments and refunds
Card payments are processed by Stripe. You enter card details in Stripe’s form, not in a My Word card field. My Word records the result.
The app does not contain a refund flow. The refund rule, if any: needs confirmation.
If a payment fails, the Pledge is not treated as honoured. You can try again where the app still allows that payment. These Terms do not promise that a particular error message will appear.
Nothing in this section removes a right to a refund that the law gives you and that a contract cannot take away.
10. Your content
You keep the rights in the Challenges, notes, photos, and feedback you submit.
You give the operator permission to host, display, and back up that content so My Word can run: for example, to show a Challenge to someone you invited, or to store a profile photo you uploaded. That permission ends when the content is deleted, except for copies the deletion function does not remove. See the Delete account page for what can remain.
This licence is a draft. Its scope, including whether it is transferable or covers backups, is: needs confirmation.
Do not use other people’s personal data in a Challenge title or share card unless you have a proper reason to do so.
11. My Word’s intellectual property
The app, its name, and its design belong to MY WORD APP LTD, except for your content and except for third-party software such as Expo, React Native, Supabase client libraries, and Stripe. The legal owner recorded for this draft is MY WORD APP LTD, company number 17476778, United Kingdom.
Whether that company is the registered owner of the My Word name and brand at the trade mark office is: needs confirmation.
12. Availability
My Word is provided as it is available. Which countries it will be offered in is needs confirmation. Features in “Coming to My Word” are not part of the service today. Analytics can fail without blocking a Challenge save. Payments can remain unconfirmed until the payment provider and the webhook agree.
The operator may suspend an account that breaches these Terms. How that decision is made, and how you appeal, is: needs confirmation.
You may stop using My Word and delete your account in Settings → Account, subject to the limits described on the Delete account page.
13. Liability
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that the law says cannot be limited.
Subject to that, the operator is not responsible for a goal you do not meet, a decision you make from your own Challenge history, or a payment you choose to make. The service does not verify that your progress entries are true.
Any cap on other losses, and any list of excluded losses, is: needs confirmation.
These Terms do not include a blanket exclusion of all liability.
14. Governing law
Governing law and the courts: needs confirmation — not stated until counsel confirms.
Do not treat a country, a court, or an arbitration scheme as named on this page until counsel confirms it. The product configuration uses country code GB and currency GBP for payments. That configuration is not, by itself, a choice of law.
15. Changes
How these Terms can change, and what notice you will get, is: needs confirmation.
Publishing these Terms on this website does not by itself mean the in-app product already shows them at sign-up. A version the user can read before agreeing still needs a place in the product when adoption is complete.
